Before we talk about the Renal Failure caused by Diabetic Nephropathy, you should know what is Diabetic Nephropathy. Generally speaking, Diabetic Nephropathy is a secondary kidney disease which is obviously caused by diabetes. Therefore, symptoms of Diabetes play a role in the Renal Failure and high sugar blood is usually the common symptom for patients of the Renal Failure.
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that occurs when a person’s body doesn't make enough of the hormone insulin or can’t use insulin properly. When you digest food, your body changes most of the food you eat into glucose (a form of sugar). Insulin allows this glucose to enter all the cells of your body and be used as energy. When you have diabetes, because your body doesn't make enough insulin or can’t use it properly, the glucose builds up in your blood instead of moving into the cells. Too much glucose in the blood can lead to serious health problems, including heart disease and damage to the nerves and kidneys.
What is Diabetic Nephropathy?
Diabetes can affect many parts of the body, including the kidneys. In healthy kidneys, many tiny blood vessels filter waste products from human body. The blood vessels have holes that are big enough to allow tiny waste products to pass through into the urine but are still small enough to maintain useful products (such as protein and red blood cells) in the blood. High levels of sugar in the blood can damage these vessels if diabetes is not controlled. This can cause kidney disease, which is also called nephropathy. If the damage is bad enough, your kidneys could stop working.
What is the Diabetic Nephropathy of Renal Failure Stage?
Generally, this kind of Renal Failure is the same as other kinds of Renal Failure, that is, most renal function has been damaged. Patients should pay attention to that Diabetic Nephropathy can get worse over time. When the kidneys stop working, Renal Failure appears. If this happens, waste products and toxins will pile up in your kidneys. The Renal Failure can cause nausea, vomiting, weakness, shortness of breath and confusion. In severe cases, Renal Failure can cause seizures and coma. As we all know, both the diabetes and kidney disease are the two of the most difficult disease through the whole world. Therefore, it is more difficult to treat the Renal Failure caused by Diabetic Nephropathy. The best way of treating the Renal Failure is to treat it as early as possible.
